Reaching 105 blocks, most without a branch of their own.

260partner branches

Every centre is mapped to a named bank branch.

For most of rural Bihar, the bank was never the problem. Getting to it was.

A household with an account it cannot reach is, in practice, a household without one. The branch is in the block town. Getting there costs a fare and most of a working day, and the trip has to be repeated for every deposit, every withdrawal and every form that was filled in wrong the first time.

A Business Correspondent closes that gap by moving the counter rather than the customer. Parsh Progressive Trust recruits, trains and supervises the operators who staff those counters, and is accountable to the partner bank for every transaction they process.

No journey

The service point is in the village, run by someone who lives there.

No lost day

Banking happens between other work instead of replacing a day of it.

No form-filling barrier

The operator completes the paperwork with the customer, in their language.

No card required

A fingerprint authorises the transaction, so a lost card is not a lost account.

Every counter has a name above it

Reach is easy to claim and hard to run. A service point that no one supervises stops being a bank counter and starts being a risk — to the customer first, and to the partner bank next.

Parsh operates a multi-tier field structure in which every agent reports to a named supervisor, and every tier answers upward for the tier below it. The trust builds and runs the software that records this: session tracking, target rollup, and an audit trail the partner bank can inspect.

A supervisor reviewing records with an operator during a field visit.

  1. Administrator

Sets targets and holds the partner-bank relationship.

  2. L4

    Project manager

Owns a programme end to end and reports against it.

  3. L3

    Operations manager

Runs service points directly and holds supervisors beneath them.

  4. L2

    District coordinator

Answers for coverage and performance across a district.

  5. L1

    Supervisor

Visits service points and resolves what the agent cannot.

  6. BC

    Bank agent

Runs the counter and serves the customer face to face.

The bottom tier is the one the customer meets. Everything above it exists so that the counter is open, stocked with cash, and staffed by someone accountable.
